About Take Charge

Take C.H.A.R.G.E.

(Changing HIV & Alcohol Risks to Gain Empowerment)

Take CHARGE seeks to empower Black young adults (ages 18-24) to make better decisions regarding their sexual health, by providing access to HIV testing, condoms and peer-led educational workshops to students attending Morehouse, Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta Metropolitan State College and Albany State University and their surrounding communities.

Project Take CHARGE is a collaboration between Morehouse School of Medicine, Albany State University, Atlanta Metropolitan State College, and Morehouse College.  Our community partners include ANIZ, Inc. and NAESM.

Project Take CHARGE is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Prevention Research Center

Our goals:

1. Raise awareness of HIV status among young adults ages 18-24 to reduce the transmission of HIV

2. Increase awareness and provision of youth-led HIV/AIDS education and prevention

3. Increase condom availability among sexually active young adults ages 18-24 to reduce the risk of HIV transmission
